SUNDAY the 20th MAY – The ASH Project and ourselves are running a lovely ECO-BENEFITS of ASH Trees walk in the parks and streets of Canterbury 10:30 am –  1 pm – book their website on their walks page!

TUESDAY the 22nd May – There is an Ancient Tree Forum visit to Leigh Woods, Bristol. Up to 3 spaces in the car, and the ATF visit is free – if interested please contact David on kentpondandtreewardens@gmail.com.

Pierland Wood conservation work, Saturdays, 21st of April 2018, 19th of May 2018, 23rd of June 2018, 21st of July 2018, 18th of August 2018, 15th of September 2018, 20th of October 2018, 17th of November 2018, 22nd of December 2018 – more of the regular flexible informal days of wonderful woodland conservation work, dormouse surveying, and enjoyable outside activity with Chris and Susan Gove at our adopted site. Come along and explore this lovely woodland near Ruckinge, Ashford. More details from susanandchrisgove@btinternet.com.

Ashford Community Woodland. Volunteers are always needed, to help maintain the site. Regular Task Days are on the first Saturday of each month (May the 1st(??) and there are a variety of tasks, including tree thinning, litter-picking, hedge-laying and meadow-mowing. Meet at 10 am in the car park at the top of Singleton Hill. SATURDAY the 12th MAY – Trottiscliffe Village Tree Walk, Meet 10:00 am at Trottiscliffe Village Hall, Church Hall, Trottiscliffe, ME19 5EB, for a gentle walk around the village and its surrounds until 11:30ish to celebrate the trees of this lovely village. SOME EXTERNAL EVENTS

Sunday the 13th of May 10:30, FRIENDS OF OARE GUNPOWDER WORKS, Oare, FAVERSHAM – the next weekend working group is at 10:30 on the second Sunday of every month. They also meet every Thursday morning! Friends of Oare Gunpowder Works,  or  email oarenick@hotmail.com.

Sunday the 15th April. Bredhurst Woodland Action Group are having their monthly task day. Whether you’re a regular volunteer or coming along for the first time, come and join the BWAG Task Day, led by Rob Pennington, Kent Wildlife Trust. They meet at 9.45 at the allotments in Hurstwood Road, Bredhurst ME7 3JZ. At every task day there are jobs to suit all abilities – from cooking the sausages and making the tea, litter picking and more strenuous jobs for those who like hard work! Tools and lunch are provided (Sausage in a roll, tea & coffee). Either email bwag@vanessajones.plus.com or phone 07813 785940 in advance to let them know you’ll be attending or just turn up on the day. Next event at Vinters Valley, Maidstone, is tba – contact Steve Songhurst for details – Vinters Valley Nature Reserve.  Vinters Valley Nature Reserve AGM & Talks for Trustees and supporters, Thursday 10th May 2018, 7.30pm start, Grove Green Community Centre, Maidstone, following the meeting there will be a presentation from Ben Kirby of photographs of the reserve over the years. Refreshments will be provided at the close of the meeting.
